This little man is soooooo happy!  His smile is just contagious and laugh warms your heart.  He loved every moment of his shoot and we had a ball.  First birthday sessions are so fun because you never ever know what to expect.  Sometimes they LOVE the cake and sometimes they DO NOT.  In this case, he was undecided.... he ate it when mom and dad "helped" him and we tried to get him to dive into it. :)

For all cake smashes, I ask that the parents purchase the cake as I want to avoid allergy issues or food sensitivities.  With that said, Publix will make a wonderful 8" round cake and will decorate it in any colors you wish for around $10.   There are also some wonderful bakeries around the Atlanta area that will take great care of you.  The cake in this photo shoot came from Whole Foods.    My tip is to avoid red icing on the cake as it can look a little like blood in the images and that is NO good! :)  

Don't be discouraged if your child is not reacting exactly the way you want them too for the cake smash photo debut.  I have seen every single sort of reaction and they are all wonderful and make great photographs and more importantly, they make great memories.  Your child is in a different location with people looking at him or her and expecting something from them... what??  It could work just as you envisioned or it could go in a different direction.  All is good!! 

We always end with a bubble bath and rubber duckies at the end of the shoot and this was just perfect ending to this little man's afternoon!
