How do I prepare for my Photo Shoot?
1) Get excited! Start thinking about clothing and locations... scan pinterest and if there is something specific you want, share your ideas with me at [email protected].
2) Read & Review the Terms and Conditions prior to scheduling your photo shoot.
3) Please complete the New Client Questionnaire so that we may plan your shoot so that it is perfect for you! Your shoot is not considered confirmed until we have received your paperwork.

New Client Questionnaire, Model Release & Contract
We request that you complete a New Client Questionnaire (Link will be sent once we book your shoot) so that we can "meet" your family in advance and prepare for your specific type of shoot. In addition, we also request a optional model release which will allow K. Boyer Photography to use photos from our session on my website, social media and other promotional materials. Your name and contact information will not be used but images can be shared on my various web platforms. You do not need to sign this model release but if an electronic signature or confirmation is not obtained, there is an additional $100 charge for your session.
When should I book my session?
Book your session as soon as possible. I am a wife, a mother to two beautiful girls and a full time photographer so life gets very busy! If you would like a specific time of year or a specific date, please book as early as possible since I only accept a limited number of sessions per month.
For newborns, please schedule your newborn session during your pregnancy. We will tentatively book you around your due date and once the baby arrives, we will set a firm date within the first 10-14 days of your child's birth.
Do you offer the option to order prints of our final images?
We provide affordable and professional quality prints and canvases that can be ordered directly from your final gallery. This is completely optional since you own the digital files, but we do urge you to use a professional lab when you print your photos. You invested in a professional newborn session, and you will want any images you print to also represent the high quality portraits you have captured.
What is included with my session fee?
Your session fee includes the Photographer's creative time and talent as well as resources including props, lighting, equipment and more. You will also receive an personal online gallery to share with friends and family plus edited images and a print release. Depending upon which session package you choose, you will receive High Resolution Images via digital download. You can always upgrade your session package within 10 days of viewing your gallery for the first time. :) View the various packages here.
Location: Where do the sessions take place?
I love to be outside and I have a list of places we can go….Parks, urban areas, historic locations, river banks…the options are endless! If you have a place in mind or somewhere that is important to you, I would love to meet you there (additional travel charges apply for over 10 miles from my home studio) or I can offer you a wide variety of suggestions.

We will talk and based on your New Client Questionnaire, we will decide what is best for your family and the various ages of the participants. The goal is to incorporate your family's personality and make it a FUN experience!

Senior Sessions: We will talk about you, your hobbies, interests and what makes you uniquely you! Do you play a sport or a musical instrument? Do you love art or the movies? We will try to come up with some fun and unique places that reflect your personality and make your images and your experience uniquely you.

Newborn We have two options for newborn photo shoots and you have a choice of locations, either my Brookhaven Home Studio or a Lifestyle Shoot in your home. (Read more bout the different types of sessions.) (10 days old to 3 months old) sessions generally take place in my home studio with appropriate lighting and backdrops. If the weather cooperates, we can do a few shots outside as well.

Cake Smash (First Birthday) Typically these are done in my home studio because I have all the backdrops, paper, props etc. If your child is a summer birthday, we can always do them outside instead! Or we can choose a different type of smash ... watermelon, ice-cream cake etc.

Winter Sessions: Typically, I host children and newborn sessions in my home studio during the cold winter months. These are smaller family sessions (up to 3 or 4) as space is limited. We can do winter sessions in your home as well. I promise you won't be able to see any clutter! :)
Clothing
I love bright, fun, natural light photography and clothing is a large component. Kids look great in bright colors, stripes and polka dots. Cute hats, shoes or small props are great. A little color is always
welcome. If you don’t enjoy colorful clothing, a flower or cute hat can be just the splash that makes a photo really come to life.

Pricing / Payment
Payment is due in full the day of your photo session. You can pay by cash, check or charge (charge incurs a 3% fee)
Each session will include the following:
1) All Digital Images, softly edited.
2) "Heavy Edits" by request only (Opening eyes, sliming body types, swapping heads etc.). Some packages include heavy edits and some do not. Please ask to clarify for your session.
3) Additional Charges may include: Additional family member / pet, travel charges, Non Social Media charge, credit card fees, Specialty locations etc.
How long after my session can I expect to receive my images?
This depends a lot upon the season as well as the type of session that you had. The Fall and Spring are busy months and you can typically expect your proofs to be available within 7 - 10 business days and your final images within three weeks. If you need them faster than this, no problem! Just let me know
You are required to sign a portrait contract. This contract includes a model release which will allow me to use photos from our session on my website, social media and other promotional materials. You do not need to sign this model release but if an electronic signature or confirmation is not obtained , there is an additional $100 charge for your session.
