First Birthday Cake Smash

Isn't it fun when you go to an event, meet a group of people or a family and you end up having so much more fun than you expected? This is what happened for Aaron's first birthday photo shoot.  I met the family at the Midtown Atlanta Home for his First Birthday Cake Smash Photo Shoot.  He is a smiley, happy little guy with great parents and an awesome dog named Theo who was so excited to participate in the photo shoot too!!  We started the afternoon off with a few family only photos... just the four of them playing and engaging each other.  We took these in his room amid his books and toys and also on mom and dad's bed where they played, rolled around with the dog on the bed, all the while I was clicking away. :) 

Once the rest of the family arrived, we began more "formal" photos outside with four generations of family members.   We moved through them quickly as we wanted to get on with the fun of the party and smashing some cake!!  

I love documentary style photos during a family event like this.  I just popped all over the house taking photos as events, smiles and laughter unfolded!  We captured some beautiful smiles and candid moments and Aaron had a blast during his first birthday party.
