FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKE SMASH!!

ATLANTA CHILDREN'S PHOTOGRAPHER

It's my first birthday!! WHOOO HOOOO!! This little man has been in my First Year Baby Club so I have had the joy of watching him grow into the darling, sweet happy little boy he is in these photos. He was smiling and full of joy and every time I am around he and his family, I am happy too. The mom brought the cowboy boots and hat for "B" to wear and we got creative with his shoes and hat. I love how they turned out and I love that we captured his little rolls on his legs and arms. They go away so very quickly, it is great to have these sweet images of the darling little baby rolls. He is one cute cowboy!

I love simple set ups for birthday and studio photos in general. I start with a simple backdrop and focus on the child as the baby should ALWAYS be the center of attention in these sorts of images. They change and grow so quickly and to capture these precious memories is critical. Every little thing. With that said, I love color for cake smash sessions. You will almost always find balloons, banners and brightly colored props to add a little pop to my images. As with every Atlanta cake smash session, I try for a few different set ups and in this case I used a simple striped backdrop for the first set and choose a black rocking chair and fun balloons. I also love a black backdrop for virtually any sort of shoot because it really really focuses on the subjects of the image. Next, I used the photo paper for the cake smash to make clean up easy and stress free! :)

I shoot canon and in this case I used my 24-70 lens and alien bees 800 lights.
