Create a GREAT Family Photo Shoot with Young Children
Brookhaven's BEST Children's Photographer! :)
Take a look at these family photos of this young and wonderful family... what emotions do they evoke? For me, it is love, joy, laughter and a feeling of belonging and safety. They clearly have fun together and enjoy each others company. This family wanted a true lifestyle photo shoot and we did it with loads of giggles. The kids were kids, the dog joined in and grandma and grandpa were a huge part as well. Initially, we were disappointed because the weather was terrible and we opted to have the photos taken indoors due to the wet ground and overcast skies. The grandparents were in town so we were limited on days and unable to reschedule. Well, it was great!
Here are a few ideas to keep it fun and light...
1) We went to the kids room and they showed me their favorite toys... what do they like to do? Play! You get natural smiles but need to be patient!! Have them interact with their parent so there is a connection there.

2) Mom told me that one of their favorite pass times with dad is to rough houseon the floor ... so we did! Let them play, laugh and be themselves and capture those moments. It is REAL and fun and everyone has a good time. As you review your images, you will most likely delete a huge majority but that's ok! The ones that turn out will be great. The glory of digital.
3) Mom's favorite activity with the boys....reading a book on the bed is one of their nighttime rituals. We also sang songs and "relaxed" in front of the camera. It was darling...

4) For the whole family, we were goofy on thefront porch and relaxed on the floor with the dog. All of it was very casual and FUN.
What a joy to be with this wonderful sweet family. I can't wait to go back and do it all over again!
These two little guys are part of one of my preschools that I photograph each Fall and Spring so this made it extra special because they knew exactly who I was... the "Crazy Picture Lady!" I love it!!
